Photo Update - An Amazing Comic Book and a Few Family Pics

Stef Werths of Cloud9 Photography here in KC offered to do a photo shoot of me/our family after reading my blog. She posted this shot and quote from my first CaringBridge post on Facebook. I had (and still haven't) ever read back my first CB posts so this one was a flashback even to me. She's an incredible artist.

I've been meaning to add some updated photos on here... check out the new additions in the photo section.  There are a few family pictures, some updated shots of the kids and a couple from our summer vacation.  Apologies to those who have already seen some of these pics on Facebook over the last six months.

We did make it to a few concerts this summer. Here we are at "Sandstone" (as I will always call it).

Hanging out in the back yard. Notice Morgan is holding a turtle. :) A year ago, I had to ask someone to push my wheelchair out the front ramp and to the back yard if I wanted to go outside. I try not to take these simple things for granted...

Most importantly, I added the digital files from a custom comic book in the photo section tonight.  Shortly after the accident, an amazing-incredible-talented-thoughtful group of Hallmarkers collaborated together to make the most wonderful gift for our family.  It was presented to us in December so my apologies I didn't get and upload these files earlier.  I was at a creative conference today and was reminded of the brilliance I'm surrounded by every day and was moved to take the time tonight to upload each of the pages of this book.

I can't begin to tell you what a special gift this was to us.  Right before Christmas, several copies of the book were delivered to us along with a custom wall canvas featuring one of the full color illustrations.  This gift not only touched my heart, but it also made me feel special - in a good way - the way the artists depicted my situation and of course my family. Those were some dark days and that art made me feel that maybe (just maybe?) my leg could unlock something great and prove to be super in some way...  I can't thank those who worked on it enough.  Check out all of the SUPER CONTRIBUTORS on the last spread of the comic book in the photo section.  And special thanks to Maureen, Ginny and Jen who I know were not only the delivery elves, but also the driving forces behind the project.
